This can be a simple, child-friendly workshop or a more advanced class for adults. We’ll explore puppet-making using materials like papier-mâché, fabric, wool, foam, willow, tissue paper etc., and of course paints and finishing decorations. Many of these materials will have been recycled or re-used.
The workshop can focus on spoon puppets, glove puppets or the more advanced rod puppets, giant puppets and even carnival puppets. Children learning to make hand-made puppets can be a springboard into building and performing their own puppet show.
