These carnival and costume workshops, classes and events can be a great way to explore not only your own local culture(s) but those from all around the world. It can easily be tied to any school or other organisation’s curriculum, and highly specific themed events and workshops can be developed to fit your needs and the ability of your participants exactly.
Here we’ll explore making Carnival costumes and masks. This is a wonderful workshop for children, where they can create masks and costumes from a wide variety of different materials. Costumes can grow to be quite complex, incorporating wings, crowns, headdresses, masks and large-scale props. Banners, flags and puppet creations are just a few of the more popular options!
